Pompey fans blame keeper

Pompeyfans2908THE Portsmouth fans pinned the blame for their 2 - 1 defeat at Man City on a goalkeeping blunder from Sander Westerveld.

Pompey's keeper failed to hold on to a cross from Joey Barton and only succeeded in popping it up for Claudio Reyna to hit home, equalising Viafara's goal scored from a well worked Portsmouth free kick.

On the Pompey-Fans site they said that Westerveld's error 'handed the initiative to City' and until then their plan to frustrate the Blues was working.

The Fratton Faithful site felt their were some positives to draw from their defeat considering the Blues are on a good run and enjoying a long unbeaten stretch. They wrote:

... But we certainly held our own, imposed ourselves on the game and were doing our bit for the best part of an hour - I was pleasantly surprised at how we contained the game and seemed to disrupt their ideas.

However, I didn't see the chance for a Lua Lua hat-trick which the site mentions!

But it is good to see a fan calling for others to support the manager and recognising the problems constantly changing the boss has on a team.

I think any City fan will be with them on that one.
