Sommeil out for six weeks

DEFENDER David Sommeil is out of action for around six weeks after suffering a fractured cheekbone in the win over Aston Villa.

He was hurt in a clash of heads and despite playing on until half-time he was withdrawn at the break, now doctors have said he won't be available to play until mid-December.

One positive over the past 24-hours has been the return of Richard Dunne who turned out for the reserves in a draw with Liverpool yesterday.

It is likely that he will slot back in alongside Sylvain Distin in this weekend's game against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

And talking of Distin, despite being one of the Premiership's outstanding defenders this season he has not been called up into the French squad for a couple of forthcoming friendlies.

But long time mis-fit with the French national squad, Nicolas Anelka has.
