Don’t just take my word for it

Thisiscityflare1708_6IF you are a keen follower of City then why not take a look around a few of the other blogs covering the Blues?

One to check out is Bitter and Blue that covers news from City but has also developed a strong connection with fanzines and bloggers of other clubs.

Another keen Blue is Gavin Cooper who follows the reserves and academy, keeping an eye on the crop of youngsters we have and the growing reputation that side of the club is gaining.

And if you want to dive in to all manner of factoids then the MCFC Stats website is the place to go.

Mark E Smith to read footie scores

Thisiscityflare1708_5THE Fall frontman, and legend, Mark E Smith is set to read the full time match results on BBC One on Saturday, November 19.

Mark E Smith is a Blue and known for kicking up a storm on stage, it should be a laugh especially if we can beat Blackburn Rovers who we play at home on the day.

Alan Ball made me a Blue

Mayorgentes3008THE town of Round Lake, Illinois (pop.15,000) has a little corner that will be forever City Blue, the Mayor Bill Gentes.

Bill’s love affair with the Blues can be traced back to the World Cup in Mexico and his favourite player at the time, City’s former boss Alan Ball.

It’s a different City, says Owen

Skewbadge1708_2FORMER Blue and well-known City pundit Gary Owen has given Stuart Pearce and the new regime the thumbs up.

Gary believes the win over Sunderland in mid-week was the type of game City could have lost in the recent past. He said:

If you go back through the years, if City ever came up against a side who had not won for a long period of time - or a striker who had not scored for ages - you could guarantee they would be the club to break the sequence.

I think we can all recognise that little character trait of the Blues, I remember Michael Own breaking a long barren spell with a goal in the first ten minutes at Maine Road a few years ago.

Season predictions

I KNOW I'm on a hiding to nothing here but I've put my thinking cap on and below you will find my prediction of what the Premiership table will look like in May.

Can't really see past Chelsea for the title, and I fancy the Blues to finish in 7th, but I think this will depend upon how we do against the likes of Spurs, Boro and Newcastle.

1 Chelsea
2 Arsenal
3 Liverpool
4 Manchester United
5 Middlesbrough
6 Tottenham Hotspur
7 MAN CITY
8 Everton
9 Bolton Wanderers
10 Newcastle United
11 Charlton Athletic
12 Aston Villa
13 Portsmouth
14 Birmingham City
15 Blackburn Rovers
16 Sunderland
17 West Bromwich Albion
18 West Ham United
19 Fulham
20 Wigan Athletic
